Harnessing Nature: Building the Great Sacandaga

This historical documentary began as an idea first brought to Peter in the early 1990s. The story of the creation of the Great Sacandaga Lake was one that deserved to be told—and, more importantly, preserved.

Although the project unfolded slowly over the span of decades, it finally came to completion in 2018 with the release of Harnessing Nature. The film was met with tremendous enthusiasm and recognition, earning an Aurora Award.

Like any undertaking of this scale, it demanded extensive planning, countless meetings, scripting, interviews, research, note-taking, and permissions—on top of all the production work.

The result stands as the largest project we’ve ever produced, showcasing videography shaped by a lifetime of experience and dedication.
